Alisha is 17. She's a typical teenager, she knows she's not special. She has only a few friends, and has a lot of trust issues. She's been used, lied to, and broken more than most people. She feels worthless. When her best friend, Kat, tells her about a boy who's going to be starting at their school, Alisha finds herself very interested in hearing about him. Kat, who's been friends with this boy for almost 4 years, tells her almost everything there is to tell. The boy has a lot of the same problems Alisha has, which of course, adds to her interest. She becomes attracted to this boy, before she even knows what he looks like. She finds herself excited to meet him, which scares her. She doesn't think she's ready to open up another person, she's not ready to take the chance of getting hurt again. She still feels pain from her last mistake. When the boy finally arrives, Alisha does try to befriend him, despite her knowledge of how dangerous it could be for her. Will she open up to him? Will he be the one she needs to mend her broken heart? Or will he be another mistake?

It's the first day of June's senior year and everything is already going wrong. Her first boyfriend and supposedly love of her life dumps her for someone else, her heart is broken and feels like it won't ever heal again and her best friend makes her join the most unnecessary club on earth to help her find new friends she most definitely does not need. Still. New chances are for new beginnings, right? Instead of falling into a deep dark pit of self pity (however tempting that may sound), all of this betrayal ends up leading her to the best friends she's ever had and the most exciting school year of her life. Oh - and a whole new fake boyfriend, to get some revenge on that idiot who dumped her. And who knows. Maybe even more.
