Therapy isn't for everyone but for him it is. He didn't mean for that accident to happen, he didn't mean To end someone's life. It was an accident and out of self defense but the judge and audience didn't believe that.

They thought he was just a cold blooded killer. That night hunted his dreams and will continue, well that's until he gets his new therapist who he thinks can make the monsters go away.

But no one can make monsters go away they will always be there looking at you in the corner of the room.
