Defying Fate
I read a Tumblr post while back about Odysseus meeting and adopting the prophet Cassandra, who had been cursed so that "Nobody would believe her." Of course, if he's going to adopt Cassandra, whom he never met in the original story... why not adopt the kid he was supposed to toss over a wall, and perhaps change the fate of what's supposed to happen along the way? But having a seer on board is not as helpful as I (or he) thought it would be... The goal is once again to keep everybody alive on the journey home, but the gods have different plans for Odysseus and his crew, and they may be bigger than one mortal man can handle. Disclaimer Disclaimer: the first few chapters are not accurate. I may update it in the future to be more accurate to the original myths, but this is an AU anyway, so, take it with its grain of salt. I'm just here to have fun.

When telemachus, son of the famous Odysseus, is out hunting and he sees that some onenis following him he confronts the person. He sees a beautiful young woman who looks his age. She starts to speak to him. She says, "I'm looking for refuge in your kingdom my lord" and bows. He grants her sanctuary and helps her build a life in Ithaca In exchange for her stories of how she got there. When he uncovers secrets he also uncovers feelings. Inspired by Epic the musical.
Queen of the Underworld
When eleven-year-old Naia and her father return home to find Naia's mother and baby brother missing, a mythical creature called a satyr tells them their loved ones have been kidnapped by the dreadful, three-headed canine beast, Cerberus. They must embark on a journey through the mythical land of ancient Greece, up to the very top of majestic Mount Olympus all the way down to the dreary depths of the hellish Underworld, to reunite their family. Along the way, they meet and interact with the mythical characters Naia has been learning about in school; the great king Zeus, playboy Poseidon, bitter Hades, sensuous Aphrodite and the majestic Pegasus, just to name a few. Throughout the journey, they realize the value of friendship and acceptance of others who are different, their own strength and ability to help others, and to believe the unbelievable.Complete

The Aeneid By Virgil Written 19 B.C.E
The Aeneid is an epic poem written in 12 books and is modeled in part on the great Greek epic poems, on Homer's Iliadand Odyssey, and on Apollonius' Argonautica. The Iliad describes the exploits of Achilles and other Greek heroes in the Trojan War (the same war which forced Aeneas to leave Troy and is described in Book II of the Aeneid) whilst the Odyssey describes how Ulysses (or Odysseus in Greek) wandered for many years, trying to return home after the Trojan War. The first six books of the Aeneid parallel the Odyssey because they describe Aeneas' search for a home. Aeneas even stops in many of the same places that Odysseus did. There is an important difference, however, for whilst Odysseus was trying to return to his original home, Aeneas must find a new place in which to settle and make his home. The second six books parallel the Iliad, for they describe the war in Italy just as the Iliad describes the Trojan War. Again, there are many parallels. For example, the Trojans are besieged inside their fort in Italy just as they were trapped inside Troy. But again there is an important difference, since the Iliad describes how the Trojans lost the war and Troy fell but in theAeneid the Trojans win the war in Italy and get the chance to build a new city. Virgil imitates many scenes from both the Iliad and the Odyssey in his epic, but he always changes them in significant ways so that they illustrate his own Roman themes. One of the most important differences between Homer's epics and the Aeneid is that it can be read as a patriotic poem whilst the Iliad and the Odyssey are poems about individuals and their adventures.Complete
