This is the untold story of Maximum Ride's beginning, from when she and her flock were kept at the School. As the flock grows, they become more desperate to make an escape. But before all that happens, we learn the story of how their life was like at the hands of the evil whitecoats, who never seemed to realize that the bird kids had feelings, that they couldn't be expected to accept the way they were being treated and stay at the School for the rest of their lives.
