Being Fragile

I wonder do these waves ever bombard you the same way they do to me

So sudden and unexpected
So bittersweet;

Forceful and reckless

Spoiling the peacefulness of this lazy river
Giving me a pain in my chest

Drowning in the "what if's"and "if I had...."

Reminiscing of late nights and early mornings
Romanticizing the littlest things

Pleading for some type of sign that we were just a bit real
I really haven't gotten over that wave

Then again, I never learned to swim
