The strongest sports team for girls in Starrymont High School is volleyball. The strongest for the guys is football.

Kennedy Valentine is the captain of the volleyball team. She is the kind of girl that doesn't like to lose any tournaments or games just like her arch nemesis Daniel Meyer. Daniel Meyer is the captain of the football team. He likes getting his team mates pumped up for each game.

The state championships are up and the two teams both have made it.

A rule that the sports board agreed on after they made it to the championships were that the two teams have to bond with each other and support each other. The thing is, the two teams hated each other. How will they win the championships if they have to spend hours a week pretending to buddy-buddy with their biggest rivals?

Sparks will fly, hearts will be broken, and most importantly new friendship will be made along the way.

After all, who said winning would be easy?

❝There is nothing to be sorry about, Dylans. It's not your fault. You didn't do anything.❞ I crave academic validation. But so does he... It is clear Dakota Reid and Nyla Dylans were close. Outside of school grounds, they were what most would call close friends. Always fooling around and putting up with each other's remarks. All until Nyla moved away from Presley in the sixth grade. She finally got out of Dakota's hair and he could breath a sigh of relief. He didn't realize how fast almost seven years can truly go by until Nyla moves back to the city she was born and raised in. Dakota was always number one... but not for long. Nyla wants Valedictorian just as much as Dakota does. Now the two are tied. Test time is coming up? Good, now who will get the higher grade? Partner projects? No worries, they will never choose each other. They know working together is impossible. There are no words to describe them other than academic rivals. Being next-door neighbors only made their competition stronger. Will Dakota be able to follow in his father's footsteps fast enough or will Nyla beat him to the number one spot? The end of the first semester is approaching faster than one could speak. Which star student will be labeled Valedictorian? Only the two-digit number most would call GPA will let them find out. Oh rivalry. This should be fun. ✰dual point of view ✰can be read as a stand-alone #1 in rivals 11/12/2021

**FAIR WARNING: YOU WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, BUT IT IS THERE, AND WORTH THE READ. IF YOU ARE OVERLY SENSITIVE, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK* Logan Pierce and Noah Locke are sworn enemies. Both at the top of their class, holding themselves to the highest standards; both captains of their volleyball teams, Logan as the girls captain, Noah as the boys; and both constantly playing seemingly harmless pranks to get back at one another. Or, at least, they're usually harmless... If one thing is true, Noah Locke and Logan Pierce are not friends. But does that mean they could never be friends? Or transcend their title as enemies? Logan might take things too far sometimes, but there's a reason behind the angry front she puts on, and in order to get behind it, someone needs to show her that there's more to life than being the best at everything. Cue Noah Locke. When the two volleyball teams are sent away to a team bonding camp for a week over Fall break, Logan and Noah must learn to get along for the sake of their teams. Partnered up and made to do activities together and bond, the goal is for Noah and Logan to stop this ongoing feud. And when something happens at the bonding camp that brings Logan's vulnerable side up to bat, Noah is the one who has to bring her back. While Logan and Noah explore something other than hatred for one another, there are secrets and people who could be working in toll to bring them apart. But will they be able to transcend those factors and stop fighting for once? Or were they destined to be enemies forever? "Better Than You" challenges the idea that enemies have to stay enemies forever, and proves that if you don't run away from love, you may just find where you were meant to be.

It was simple. He was my brother's ex-bestfriend and now enemy. I was supposed to stay away from him. I was supposed to be loyal to my brother and avoid him. Yet somehow I managed to keep everything together. I kept my secret admirer from my over-protective brother and I remained focus on getting into college. I didn't expect it to happen so fast.
