He intrigues her, he's smarter than the "school of idiots" she's used to. She has no respect for anyone who dwells in romance, therefore she doesn't concern herself in any form of it. When her past comes back to haunt her again, she discovers that her new friend ties into everything. An ancient society, Xerxes, is coming after her and her sister, and she has no reason why. Rebecca is willing to sacrifice anything for her little sister, even if it means her own life. She has the scars to prove it.
