In Mali Bay's world, the voice inside your head is your soulmate. And once you meet them, you just know. The problem with that is the voice inside her head is her own. Mali has accepted the fact that she will never have a soul mate, and is already planning to leave town once she turns eighteen. But even though the thought of leaving her best friend Alfie and her family behind is already hard, certain events make it even harder for her, leaving her with the decision to come clean to her Alfie and her family and possibly suffer being looked at like an outsider or leave them and create a different life that is actually normal.
