I look around the bedroom taking note of how much things have changed over the past few months. Annalise, the woman I had taken so much pleasure in harassing, was a Goddess, and now not only my wife but pregnant with my child. My eyes which had seen centuries of life and death, war and peace, love and hate, had been opened to knowledge that went beyond what most supernaturals knew. Callindora, whom I had despised for centuries had betrayed the council and humans by mating with Typhon, one of the most feared Gods in history and now carried his child. We were now headed for war against a God and even I was uncertain if we would come out victorious. All of these things churn in my mind like the flames of hell but it was only the tip of the iceberg. Annalise was changing, constantly be tormented by a demon from her past. I struggle to help her as I try to piece together the fragments of her past but they only lead to questions about my own past.
