This book is an alternate ending to the Reid and Maeve storyline, one where she was saved.
But dating a fbi profiler isn't easy, and definitely not after you've had a near-death experience with a psychopath, considering the PTSD that follows.
Spencer thought that once he and Maeve finally met in person they would be happy and everything would be ok..but if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
