College really is a place where anyone can be anything.

Dominic Miressi is an aspiring surgeon in college. He doesn't have time to form new friendships with all the assignments and studying he needs to get done to achieve his career and prove them wrong.

But when Emery Castro, an energetic artist decides to befriend him. His life starts to take a turn as she introduces him to things he never knew existed.

Will his life go back to how it was before? Or will he need to adapt to having a hyper girl by his side.

~~~~~
Opening up the brick of pages, he turned to the bookmarked page and began studying on heart transplants. Getting lost in the logical paragraphs until a faint scratch of a chair could be heard diagonal from where he was sitting.
"May I sit here?" The girl asked.
"I don't mind." he responded, not seeing the harm of allowing her in the space. It is a public library afterall.
Not a minute goes by before he decides he made a mistake.
Her foot keeps shaking while she reads a book on something about color theory. the taps of her foot began to make his mind spiral. She stops for a second and everything seems to fall back into place until she just starts tapping her fingers and touching her necklace, sliding the centerpiece on the chain.
Questions appeared in his thoughts every millisecond. Mainly asking himself why she must fidget and if it's a necessity for her survival.
"Can you stop fidgeting? It's disrupting my focus."
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Her cheeks turned a bright crimson as she looked back down at her book. But he still couldn't focus. Noticing every time she had to consciously or even physically stop herself from shaking her leg or from the taps. Changing the feeling of aggravation into intrigue.
*COMPLETE*** "You're not playing fair," I whispered, shuddering when I felt his lips and the stubble on his jaw brush against the side of my neck. "I don't recall making rules," he said, lifting his head, our noses nearly touching as he stared into my eyes. "If there aren't rules, then I can't be playing unfair." "Friends don't talk this close," I said as he took a step closer. "Or touch this much." "Friends also don't respond to their friends' touch the way you are to mine," he said, bringing his hand up to my jaw and tilting my face up towards his, his lips centimeter from mine. "I personally think you set our friendship up for failure by assuming our connection could be ignored. I've never been good at friendship anyway, I say we try something I could do better at." "What could you do better at, Milo?" I asked, a shaky breath escaping me as his lips leaned in closer and only turned away from mine at the last minute. His lips brushed against my ear as his hand moved to the back of my head, threading through my hair as he whispered. "Us." Emery has been in Europe the last eight months. (18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT) "Attract a lot of attention, huh beautiful?" His voice hit me like a wall, absurdly catching me off guard. It was deep, sensual, something any girl (or boy) could melt over. I was sort of speechless, yet trying my best to appear unafflicted. "Only the wrong ones." That was definitely drunken me talking, as I didn't usually have that much confidence. His lips twitched up into a smirk, expressing that he understood my comment. "Does that mean that I'm in that category?" My palms began to grow sweaty and my heart rate picked up, but otherwise my body remained relaxed, appearing completely fine. It similar to when you're on autopilot, completely withdrawn due to intoxication. "I suppose not," I crossed my arms, putting on this seductive persona just for him. This fueled his smirk, about to murmur another comment before I cut him off. "You'll have to show me, though." *** Amelia Hollis was a 23-year-old writer at one of the local publishing companies, assisting a very handsome man and writing articles left and right. Her and her best friend, Aviary, lived together in a cute little apartment off the central part of the city, yearning to create new memories and important moments. Amelia always lived for the moments, taking in every little detail and savoring it like it was her favorite meal. She was an optimist, hoping to change peoples lives with her dreams. James Vallette was a 34-year-old CEO, building his company from dirt with the help of his brother. He was a realist, not really having time to deal with dreams or even love. He knew this the night he laid eyes on Amelia. It was only casual; what harm could a one-night stand do? Oh yeah, he's her dad's boss.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he stared across the table at me. I could seriously drown in his eyes. He was intoxicatingly attractive and he had to know it. That's why he was acting strange around me. For some reason, he looked at me as if I was the only one there with him. As if nobody else were here. And his voice... it pained me. It actually pained me with how utterly seductive and husky it always sounded. And the way he smelled all the time. I don't know why he smelled so strong, but I didn't mind. He smelled like evergreens and a hint of mint. It sounds like a bad combo, but it dizzied me with how lost I got in it. The thought of not being able to control myself, my thoughts and feelings and body when I'm around him, infuriated me. I was so good at holding myself together now, and he just unraveled me so easily, leaving me a mess. I wasn't the slightest bit afraid of him, and I had no idea why either. Just being in the same room, I felt like I didn't have to look over my shoulder. I didn't have to worry. I didn't even know who he was, and he still drew me in. "So, you were in California before? Why did you move?" Grace Hatfield asked, looking at him. She is our school's college and career advisor. She took me in and adopted me a couple years ago. She even gave me her last name. A saving grace. Why had she invited him here? Why did he come? He turned to her with a smile and a shrug. "Guess I just hadn't found what I was looking for yet." Something about the way he said it, sent a shiver down my spine. Why did I feel like there was so much more meaning behind his words than he was letting on? "Well, I hope you find what you're looking for." Grace said, and he turned to me with a devilish smirk and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Something tells me that I will."
