Anastasiya Fedorova had no clue what her place in the world was She lived in a constant state of fear for the majority of her life. She was a Black Widow until the age of 17 when the Red Room sold her after her graduation to a woman named Adrielle who did her dirty work in the shadows. She ran a network of her Shadow Cadets groups of men and women who were skillfully trained to eliminate targets of her bidding. Until one-day S.H.I.E.L.D goes sniffing through her affairs. Coward. Freak. Killer. Marie Devnner has never known a life out of the shadows; out of hiding. But a one-off encounter with a mugger threw her into the spotlight and into the path of a certain billionaire philanthropist and an observant redhead. With a hazy past and powers that S.H.I.E.L.D. is dying to get its hands on, Marie is desperate to escape back to the streets and back to the safety of the shadows. But an ultimatum between life in prison (complete with electric-shock handcuffs) and becoming an agent doesn't leave her with much of a choice. Still, nothing could have prepared her for the wild roller-coaster that is the Avengers. And she never expected the feeling of "home." Maire has always been alone. But, maybe she doesn't have to be.
