Fritz Lopez was the ordinary kid, till he faced Death in the face, literally. The night the Grim Reaper was just, "passing through" was the day the ordinary kid became something bigger. Death gave Fritz his power in return of his humanity, but not really.
After just the first day of Fritz new immortal life, he quickly realizes that it won't be easy. All the rules and dangers that will have to be stopped won't be easy to learn and deal with.

The rest of humanity then began hunting down the 52 card users with extreme violence, but since a card would randomly pass to another person in the world, they began imprisoning them. Years past, now in modern-day, a boy hurt and scared because of the hunt for the card wielders, blames the gods and so the Devil bestowed upon him their card.
