Fritz Lopez was the ordinary kid, till he faced Death in the face, literally. The night the Grim Reaper was just, "passing through" was the day the ordinary kid became something bigger. Death gave Fritz his power in return of his humanity, but not really.
After just the first day of Fritz new immortal life, he quickly realizes that it won't be easy. All the rules and dangers that will have to be stopped won't be easy to learn and deal with.

It was just another day in Death City. DWMA was up and about living life to the fullest. Maka's team was yet again assigned a special mission by no one other than Dr. Stein. Five young adults from the same area die from similar causes and all end up in the same place, Hell. The Sins they have committed are minor, but they're enough to get them into the Eternal Shit House. The Devil comes to each of them in many forms and hands them each individual tasks they must perform to see where they belong in Hell. Some have accepted their fate and work hard to be one of His Greats. Others try finding an escape and a second chance at Life and Heaven. If they fail these tasks, they're stuck back in line with no short cuts. May be a tad confusing to read because the perspectives bounce from first to third person depending on who's narrating. Long ago, 4 gods ruled over humanity since their beginning, but after growing bored, they decided to play a game with humanity. Dividing their power into 52 cards that give humans a part of their power, the gods then disappeared leaving behind a prophecy that said one card wielder would rule over them. The rest of humanity then began hunting down the 52 card users with extreme violence, but since a card would randomly pass to another person in the world, they began imprisoning them. Years past, now in modern-day, a boy hurt and scared because of the hunt for the card wielders, blames the gods and so the Devil bestowed upon him their card.
