Malamig na gabi at paligid. Patak ng bawat ulan na kumakawala sa kalangitan at amoy ng kape na nanggagaling sa maliit na coffee machine na araw-araw kong ginagamit sa hindi kalakihan kong Coffee Shop. 

Dati, sa tuwing aabot ang alas dose ng hating-gabi ay antok ang aking nararamdaman. Ingay ng iilang nagpupuyat na estudyante habang gumagawa ng thesis sa loob ng aking kapehan ang aking napapakinggan at mga taong nagkakape pagkagaling sa magdamag na trabaho ang aking pinagsisilbihan. Hinahainan ng masarap na tinapay at pinagtitimpla ng mainit at malinamnam na kape.


Ngunit isang gabi, isang babae ang biglaang pumasok sa 'di kalakihan kong tindahan. Pinagtimpla ko siya ng mainit na kape at tinanong ko siya kung ano ang kanyang pangalan. Kasabay nang pagbagsak ng mga luha niyang iniingatang mahulog ay ang pagbuhos ng malakas na ulan.

Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least.
