Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play that premiered in London, 2016. It was met with praise by theatergoers and disdain, even hatred, by those who read the script. Today, there is a clear division in the fandom between those who enjoy Cursed Child and those who seem to despise it to the very core of their being. This book attempts to learn why.
I will gauge the attitudes of the fandom and how their connection with creator J.K. Rowling began to fray in the years leading up to and following the premiere. After, we will embark on a full analysis of the so-called "8th story" and its varying degrees of canon noncompliance and mischaracterizations.
Once that is complete, a modified version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released in a different book - HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD (The M. Clifford MOD) - with all previous discussions, shortcomings, and complaints considered, in order to bring fans a version of the play they may better appreciate.
