As the skies above Avantica blackened with the smoke rising from the smouldering ruins of what was once the thriving capital of human civilization, everything became clear. The war was lost, the world beyond saving. One, lone dragon was difficult enough to kill- but an entire, united army of such beasts was impossible to beat.
Humans used to live everywhere, from bustling coastal trade ports to tiny, inland agricultural villages. Now, within the space of a couple of years, almost every sign of human culture has been burnt to the ground, and the few souls lucky enough to survive the onslaught have retreated to concealed slums. Their only hope is to remain hidden and pray that they are not discovered, for none have faced a dragon alone and returned to tell the tale... That is, until Clayde Austin discovered his strange gift for shape-shifting.
Armed with his new found power, Clayde takes to the skies in search of answers and solutions, but not even he can control the darkness within his soul.

dragon rebirth
The dragons have come and gone since the Pliocene epoch when Wooly Mammoths roamed with humans during the ice age. For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. But many knew the stories they told, the things they saw and missed, and in this world of social media, the child coming home, reborn as a shifter. For 16-year-old Nathan that was his reality. For 11 years he's not only avoided getting grabbed but helped others avoid a similar fate. But a black dragon was watching him grabbing him only to lay low in the nearby woods, something they did to pick out who'd they take. It did that for 10 years, more than 3 times longer than usual. His actions and the amount of time he had avoided them made him a sort of celebrity in his town in the midwest. But one day that black dragon made its decision, he was to be her hatchling. When they're usually marked the child could turn to protective mode, running from home to prevent drawing attention to other children for the picking, and that's what he did, right to where they last landed. Luck, choice, a possible spell in those claws, whatever you may think doesn't matter. A black dragon never misses its mark. With agility unsurpassed by the other types they're almost impossible to avoid. But these dragons didn't breathe fire, were a threat, nor in any way the size of a 747 max. All they had that was unique from other creatures was a highly evolved brain with the intelligence of a human and a heart of platinum. Note. Some creatures don't belong to me in any way. Healer of Tigers
"D-Daniel, your name is Daniel." I said and stopped on the road. He didn't look at me and I take a couple of steps, leaning up against a tree. He stood there in front of me, "Eve, we have to go... It isn't safe here. I know you thought I was gone, but I'm here now. Please if come with me I will explain everything." I looked up at him. He was staring at me with defeat. "Daniel, you vanished... Y-You left me there all alone. I cried my heart out, my best-friend was gone. Now... You come back and ask me to with you. I don't know you anymore..." Once upon a time there was a girl name Evangeline King, Eve for short. She lives in a world full of shifters and non-shifters. Her parents were the King and Queen of people that hated shifters. Eve never believed them, because her best-friend was a shifter. His name is Daniel Grey, he could shift into a tiger. He would hide his secret from the others. But one day, Daniel vanished and Eve never saw him again. Over time her parents died, and her name and kingdom were forgotten. Eve became poor and went to live with her friend Amber. Who worked at the bakery, in a small village called Shimmer. Eve lived there for years, working at the local tavern to earn money to help Amber. To this very day, Eve still wonders what happened to her golden tiger.Complete

Following the death of her mother at the hands of her father, Denali had left the shifter life behind her. Being a female, she did not have the ability to shift, which made her decision easier. Everything seemed to fall into place with her decision when she sees a add for a maid position that offers room and board near a local college. Here, she could continue her mothers work and maybe one deal fulfill her dream. After she accepts, she finds out that her employer was the most well-known shifter in the shifter community. He is also the most sought-after male as well. He was a rich billionaire who had yet to find his mate and gave tons of female shifters hope of a better life. Denali is just relieved she will never see him. Who would come to their winter getaway in the middle of summer after all? Just days after she starts, he does just that. He pays them a surprise visit, then demands answers of the staff as soon as he arrives. He can smell his mate's scent, but there are too many she-wolves there to tell whose scent is whose. Xena, a girl who has fought with Denali since she arrives immediately steps forwards. Denali isn't sure she is right though. Something about his scent rouses something deep inside her. Something no She-wolf is supposed to have. Xena will do whatever she must to make him hers. She would even make Denali disappear, permanently. Being the daughter of another wealthy wolf, she could make it happen. Denali just needs to decide if he is worth risking everything for. If love is worth the leap of faith and risking everything. If she doesn't, Xena will live the life she deserves, with Denali's destined mate.Complete
Heart of the Wolf
A human took everything from her. To escape the pain and heart wrenching emotions of loss, she fled into her wolf form and into the wilderness. **TRIGGER WARNING: VIOLENCE, BLOOD, LANGUAGE, ADULT CONTENT**** Blue flames rise high into the air. The snow on the ground around the fire is now water, exposing the stone below. Evon has long since stopped screaming. Instead, his body is mostly chard. The deed is complete. Justice is served. The people have their peace of mind back. What little they can at least. Evon's death can never satisfy the loss they suffered. It is enough though, for now. I turn to the Tarren family. Matias is comforting his wife, Willa. By their side, their six children stand together. Matthew is holding Mila's shoulders from behind. The rest of her brothers stare blankly ahead. Mila's tears drip down her face onto the snow. I see violence stirring inside her. Evon may be dead, but what he did will never leave this family. I meet eyes with Matias and nod. "It is done," I tell them, "Let your vengeance be satisfied." With that, I turn and jump off the landing platform. I shift mid-air and fly around the castle. Now, I have an intruder to deal with.
