This is a writing exercise to subvert the typical tropes of a Western. Maximilian Peel is a hardened wandering cowboy and an exceptional gourmet chef who doesn't travel anywhere without his cooking implements and a mass of ingredients. No matter where you are when you need his help, you can bet your life you'll be well fed if you're on the right side of Maximilian Peel.

I really enjoyed this character and plan on a series of other short stories with him venturing along his way and encountering various people baffled by his cooking talent.
