When Erista was ten, her home Kingdom of Eledor was attacked by humans and her family ousted from the throne. She fled that night, after her mother informed her she was an Empress, one of the last beings of her kind. Erista lives in a realm where magic is forbidden, and magical beings forced into hiding, or they are hunted and killed. Since she fled her Kingdom, she has been on the run from the various Kingdoms and forces like the Dark Riders that are looking for her, as she's now a wanted criminal along with a runaway. But something changes when she meets Rowan, the Dragonius, a shapeshifting human who can turn into a Dragon, and she decides to help him.
