"Viola" she mumbled.
"What's that?" I asked, curious to hear her next witty message.
"The scientific word for a violet," she replied dreamily, as she held her hand toward me, "which is a symbol of love from times of Sappho."
She was holding a small envelope, outstretched for me to reach. I was cautious to not grab it too eagerly, worrying about misunderstanding the situation, "could this be... for me?"
My doubts rushed in and I denied my hopes to clean up the mess fast, "Gosh I sound so awkward- sorry I'm probably mixing this all up I can-"
"No, please don't worry so much," she chuckled, "just hear me out and take my letter."
I took a deep sigh of relief, and she paused to recollect her thoughts, "the truth is, I don't know what love is. But I'm willing to find out what it is."
With a smile on her face, she turned and walked away, giving a wave of goodbye. Leaving me dazed, the letter limp in my hands...
