Korra is born into a prosperous world. A world where there are no big conflicts, a world where technology was growing. As a young child, Korra would fantasize about becoming a savior of the world, commanding respect, and turning heads. But be careful what you wish for, young Korra.

A world similar to our own (no bending and limited mention of spirits) yet more advanced than our 21st century (both politically and technologically).
