It's a village that was under the rule of a vampire Lord until adventures came in and defeated him thus lifting the curse...probably.

This little kingdom has been kept separate from the rest of the world by a magic barrier for centries and is finally opened up again to the whole world. It's been opened for a few years but it's all fairly recent. This story takes place now after those adventures freed the village and defeated the vampire Lord, but as our protagonist Elvira will discover not all mysteries about this village have been brought to light...
