Tommy has been living in adoption facilities and Foster care homes since the age of 6, after the sudden death of his parents. Tommy is now 13 years old and has been through a total of 53 Foster homes, most sending him home for bring a "problem child" and "too much effort " . By now he figured out that the system is terrible and he'll probably stay like this, hopping homes every month or so. But then he met quite the odd family, they were different, but he wasnt sure if that was good yet. Was he going to be stuck in an adoption agency forever or would he find his new family? I will be putting all TWs at here and not in the individual chapters so please check before you read. TRIGGER WARNINGS: -self harm -suicidal thoughts and actions -body dysphoria -eating disorders -panic attacks -throwing up (think that's everything, might add later)

'Before we leave, I was wondering something... I noticed that your social worker called you Will and I suppose I'm wondering which name you preferred?' Wilbur was surprised that he noticed such a small thing, but he supposed it accounted for the surprise that he had noticed earlier. 'Oh, I prefer Wilbur if that's okay sir. My social worker always forgot to call me Wilbur and I stopped correcting him a while back.' He replied, choosing to ignore the feeling of anxiety at the realisation that was the most he had talked throughout their meeting. 'Alright mate. Oh, and please call me Phil. Sir makes me sound older than I actually am.' OR A fluff to angst to fluff adoption AU where Wilbur Soot gets adopted into the SBI household just before his 18th birthday after years in the foster system. Now, he must learn how to trust his newfound family and find that it's okay to be dependent on others. But after so many years of only relying on only himself, Wilbur struggles to do that. After all, can a story ever be that simple? Trigger warnings are at the top of each chapter. There aren't many but check them out anyway. Cross posted on AO3, search up the title to find it on there :)
