The town Everdeen has always been a pious one, however more rapid radical change has begun and Alexis has learned she is more involved in it than she ever intended to be.
She knows of the secrets lurking within the Shrine, those so devoted to their beliefs they are rumoured to have gone mad. These cloaked, devoted followers are after her, wanting to gain her as a symbol of their beloved faith.
Her best friend Ryan lives in the southern part of town which refuses to follow the new laws and reforms introduced. He will stop at nothing to protect Alexis and stand up for what he believes in.
Everdeen is becoming a more hostile, divided town and Alexis and Ryan are more important to it all than they will ever know..
