I looked across the grand room and sighed. I did what I had to. Daniel stood with her arm wrapped with his. She laughed at the joke his mother told and then he leaned down to kiss her cheek.

I bit the inside of my cheek to calm the anger rising up. I filled her father's wish; my work here was done. I turned around and walked out of the grand hotel.

She was happy, that's all that matters now.

Oh, how I wish I hadn't fallen in love with her smile. That would've made this a lot easier to do.
