Unique has a harder way of life, trouble or bad luck always seems to find her, she feels abandoned by her mother who put a man before her only child she has left on earth. Unique's brother died, her father's an addict and slowly loosing his mind but unique barely see's him. He's out of the state working and traveling because he knows his daughter is disappointed in him but doesn't know how to face her, so he just pops up when he wants to or when he feels like it. She pretty much have to learn to get it any way she can by being a CNA on call nurse and doing hair as a side hustle. Unique eventually meets Lamar and they become friends on some weird term but eventually click very well. They become best friends & end up catching feelings for each other but both are too scared to act on them.

So they try the dating other people thing as a distraction of their true feelings will this complicate uniques life or help her get over her true feelings because she's too scared to be abandoned again?
