Told in alternating perspectives, best friends Paloma, Josie and George are spending their last night together before college doing the same things they have been doing for the last four years: getting ready at Josie's before meeting up with Josie's boyfriend and his friends to stay up all night hopping around different parties and houses in their neighborhood. Just another boring night. The thing is, it's the last one.
Each girl wants their own version of a happy ending. Paloma, the only queer girl in her small town, just wants to spend her last night in town with her best friends before leaving to start her real life in New York. George wants to finally tell Gus, her friend and crush, how she feels about him. And Josie wants to find the words to tell Oliver, her long-term boyfriend, that she actually doesn't want to break up anymore.
The girls make a pact to say and do everything they need to do before their time together ends, but over the course of the night, their plans get sidetracked by new, predatory guys, pretty girls, fights about the future, and realizations about how lucky they were to have each other, especially in the environment they grew up in - with its' rampant, casual toxic masculinity, rape culture and slut-shaming.
Even though the night throws new challenges at them and pulls them apart, they always find their way back together. And they are all left with a question they have been scared to ask: who will we be without each other?
Leenah and Josie have been best friends since forever they grew up together. They are inseparable, they both decided to pursue their careers which involved going to college. The best college for them to study at was in Sydney. Leenah is studying a medical degree and Josie is studying a bachelor degree of fashion design. They decided to study at the same college which they made the choice to move across state lines to Sydney easy, as they're originally from Brisbane. They first moved in with Josie's brother Todd, after finally getting settled in Sydney Leenah decided to move out on her own. They always hang out at 'Hooked' a club on the night strip where Todd is manager at. It's one of the hottest clubs out. Leenah and Todd have a history together but Josie doesn't know about it, as things get complicated with them Leenah decides it's best to move forward with someone that isn't unavailable. Todd has a girlfriend and she is pregnant with twins. Josie hates his girlfriend and isn't convinced that the babies are his. As Josie and Leenah both try to make it clear for him he doesn't want to listen to them and think they're sabotaging his relationship. Josie and Leenah both find themselves on a new hot dating app 'ply' where they both find themselves a new fling or could it be more? What happens when Josie finds out about Todd and Leenah's past? Could that make them closer or drive them apart?
