Humanity has branched off from its original path. Lurking in the dark are the Reapers, humans who have been granted the power of the mystics, they now find a need to protect their human neighbors from beings that live in the shadows.
The Shadow Beings, entities who are human in appearance except for their soulless black eyes, are threatening the human world and those who occupy it. It's the Reaper's duty to protect the humans, to keep the balance. At least, that's what Tala's been told. After uncovering a very important, life threatening lie that has been the basis of her entire life, Tala desperately begins searching for more information. Only the answers she finds weren't what she was expecting. Offering comfort and protection is someone Tala would have never expected, least of all trusted.
Dragged into a war that threatens not only these two magical groups but also the human world, Tala realizes that some things are better left alone. And that some things are worth dying for.
