Moose Jaw Saskatchewan; not quite a small town, not quite a city. It's something in-between with elements of both, and to Anna Crawford, it's perfect just the way it is.
Anna was born and raised with the wind at her back on a hobby farm in Caronport, a 20 minute drive outside of town. A free range only child and full-blown country girl, she knows no life apart from her forests, animals, and flower fields, where her independent and free-spirited self can use her wild imagination to her heart's content.
Grade 10 was a breeze. Next up is summer vacation, and then it's on to grade 11...
... or is it?
Anna's nearly perfect grades throughout middle and high school have earned her a difficult choice; remain in her current class, or start fresh with an entirely new one by skipping a grade and joining grade 12 to match her current academic level. Opting for the latter, she prepares herself for the new beginning she's about to face, and the new classmates she's about to meet. The first experience she'll have with this new group of people, as she finds out, is a trip with her biology class; a three week expenses-paid trip to Vancouver BC, to be exact.
Anna has never seen the ocean, nor has she ever been on a plane before, but she's determined to fit in and make a place for herself.
Julien Bennett grew up in Sunningdale in northern Moose Jaw and hopes to one day become a marine biologist. Hearing news of this trip has made him ecstatic and he's beyond excited to finish high school off strong - that is, until the unfamiliar 15 year old next to him on the plane needs help coming down from a panic attack.
What will this mean for the rest of the trip exploring one of the biggest cities in Canada?
