Hope is the thing with Feathers.

-------------------------------

Mirelle Austin, a girl who loves reading. For years she's been living in fantasies and the beauty of poetry. But one night, something draws her attention more than all the books she wanted to read and all the lives she wanted to live, a knife with shining silver as the moon, with someone who looks as deadly as all villains she's read about.

Will she follows the figure through the woods or decide that this is the stupidest idea she's ever had?

-------------------------------
He had soft black obsidian hair that was as shiny as his blade, his eyes were deep blue I could drown in them if I stared.

When he spoke it felt like the trees themselves were quiet as if to hear his words being whispered.

He was...exquisite.

《 Highest Ranking: #5 in Vampire 》 "Is that Marcus? Marcus as in, from our High School Marcus!" Casey squeaked. I spun around, not quite believing her, but there he was. He strode through the school like he owned it and my god, he could've. He'd changed over the four years he'd been gone. It was like god himself had carved him from a statue. His cheekbones could cut a finger and a jaw that could slice a hand. He was taller, more muscular. He looked nothing like the boy that went away. He wore a blacket jacket and ripped jeans, his grey eyes studied the school as every female studied him. Suddenly, they slipped past every other person's eyes and landed on mine. No surprise etched his face, it was like he didn't recognise me. Until I saw the corner of his mouth lift up. ~~ Best friends, Diana and Marcus planned to do everything together. They would go to college and live in the same dorm room, they would always be best friends. But, Marcus went away. Without expecting him to return, Diana uses her heartbreak to change her life. She becomes popular in college.. Then one day, he shows up. But he's changed, he's darker, more silent and definitely a lot more hotter. He'd grown taller, his face sharper and he drew eyes from every woman on campus, even the guys. He spoke to no one and didn't even acknowledge her until she spoke to him. But something was very off. Very off, indeed. Cover Design: @newsies- Copyright @tavanalee No Rights Reserved 2018

Long ago, when the world was young and humanity struggled against the forces of chaos, the gods intervened. They forged a sword, not as a weapon of destruction, but as a gift of hope. Each god poured a fragment of their essence into it-courage, wisdom, resilience, and strength. It's a sword meant for everything possible. For centuries, the blade lay hidden, waiting for the right moment to be discovered. It wasn't buried in gold or locked away in a grand vault-it rested quietly in the heart of the earth, untouched and unseen, until the time was right. When the first hand grasped the hilt, the sword came alive. Its surface shimmered with an otherworldly glow, a promise of the power within. The one who found it didn't know the gods had shaped it, nor did they understand the weight of what they held. But the sword recognized them. It responded to their strength, their resolve, and their needs. As the blade cut through the darkness for the first time, it wasn't just its edge that brought change. It was the force behind it-the will to fight for survival, for something greater than fear. With every swing, the sword grew brighter, stronger, as if it fed not on blood but on purpose. Though the gods forged the blade, it wasn't theirs anymore. In that moment, it became part of humanity, a bond between the divine and mortal worlds. And for the one who wielded it, the sword was more than steel and magic-it was a companion, a guide, and a silent promise: you are not alone. Thus began the sword's journey, not just as a tool of battle, but as a symbol of what humanity could become. And though its path was just beginning, the gods knew it would go on, far beyond what even they could imagine. (this is my very first novel. I got my inspiration from a nail clipper)

Saving Leah Series Book 7 "So what do you admire most about women?" I ask the man as he sips on his coffee. He smirks as he sets his cup down, acting as if my question was some sort of joke, "Her complete submission, of course." I hum, disproving greatly of this answer as well as all the others before. "Birdie is not the type of submissive to give complete submission easily. What is your plan with that?" I ask him. He just laughs, "Every submissive can be broken in, it is only a test of a dominant's will," he says with a smirk. I smile tightly and slide his application into my folder, having all the answers I need. "So when do I get to meet her?" He asks, suddenly standing as he sees me gathering my things. I smile for real now, taking great pleasure in this part of the project. "Birdie is a flame in need of stoking, not extinguishing. I appreciate your time, but I have a lot of other candidates-" "There is nothing wrong with me holding my submissive up to high standards. I'm an incredibly experienced dominant and-" "This has nothing to do with your experience level. Like I said before-" I try to explain again before he once again cuts me off. He raises his voice going on about himself. I doubt he really cared for Birdie all that much. He's never met her. This is an ego thing. "You have a nice day," I tell him with a sigh, turning and checking my watch as I leave the coffee shop. Appointment four down, six more to go. ---- Birdie, the wild, sassy, and fiery child of Ellie and Charlie is now of age to have her own dominant. With deep insecurities about her own personality, she asks her beloved brother Weston to find her a dominant. Ethan set out in life to be successful and he did just that. He owns his own finance company, his house and a nice car...but no submissive. He finds Birdie's profile online and is intrigued by the vague descriptions and the extensive interview process he must undergo to meet her.

I moved to Whitby expecting my days to be filled with grief and heartache while I watched my father die. But turns out the town has much more to offer a teenage girl like me. His name is Marcus Davenport. Rich. Powerful. Admired by the locals. Not. Human. If I were smart, I would have run the other way when I realized what he was. But there's this undeniable pull between us, a heartbeat that brings us both to life whenever we're together. I convinced myself it was fate drawing lines in the sand, the beginning of a love story that would end with forever. But I was wrong. Turns out the blood running through my veins is tied to Marcus in a way that corrupts everything we feel for each other. It's no longer something I can trust. Nothing is as it seems. The paranormal residents of Whitby altered my reality forever, and now I'm caught in a web of dark secrets and deadly deceits. The future is more uncertain than it has ever been, and I have no idea what's going to happen between Marcus and me.
