She needed a way to defeat her opponent, Kars. The two have a drink to pass the time as well as talk about each other's past. Lisa Lisa felt a long forgotten emotion that she casted away for many years. Little did she know that her adversary was in tune with her desires all along.

The SPW Foundation sends Jōtarō and Polnareff out to find the arrows that awaken stands, as it's told in VA (I know it happens in the '90s but let's say the research started in '89 cause I didn't want too much time to have passed for the pain to be still high).
