"Tell me what you're thinking about." He demands, while still clutching her so close to his chest she can hear his heart beat faster and faster. She was the only reason he needed.
"Nothing important." She replies, her words spoken as soft as can be.
He shakes his head, frustrated he didn't know her inner workings. Didn't know how to soothe her thoughts.
"Not good enough, I want a real answer."
Her eyes widened at the sheer dominance in his tone, so she speaks, but with much hesitancy "I'm just-I'm scared that all of this will go away. I don't want it to ever go away. I don't want any of you to go away."
She looks up at him with tears brimming her eyes. It killed him to see her with that pain in her eyes once again.
"We are never going away, ever. I promise."
"We promise," The three of them spoke with such certainty that would make anyone cower in fear. She could do nothing but believe them. And for all intents and purposes, that's exactly what she did.
