Seo Hee was first introduced to the media in 2011 when she made a cameo appearance on KBS 2TV's variety show 'We Got Married'. Her marriage with actor Song Ji Hyo got her into a lot of trouble when it was revealed that she was just dating him and not married to him. The public outcry was so high that Song Ji Hyo, in her defence, defended Seo Hee on Twitter as well, stating that she was a woman and had a right to do whatever she pleased with her life. However, the news of Seo Hee's affair with Song Ji Hyo had the celebrities and the public getting furious on both sides.She first gained widespread public attention on the 2013 KBS 2TV variety show 'The King of Mask Singer' in which she performed the song 'Brush the Wind'.

Later that year, she released the song 'Eyes', and was named the representative for the 2014 SBS Gayo Daejun in October 2013. The title track of her second studio album is titled 'Play'.

In 2014, she was cast in KBS 2TV's drama 'I Can Speak' as one of the main characters. Seo Hee was also known for starring in KBS 2TV's comedy show 'I Hate My Teacher' and one-shot comedy drama 'MADtv'.

Seo Hee released her third album 'Hello' in October 2014, and announced the release of the accompanying digital single 'Watch Over Me' on October 24, 2014. Seo Hee stated on her blog, "I feel sad because I couldn't release the first two singles from 'Hello' at the music festival 'The SBS Gayo Daejun' because they didn't make it." She was originally supposed to perform the songs 'Play' and 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' at the festival.
