Solar never thought getting caught in the rain would change his life. One gloomy afternoon, while sulking about how everyone mocks his weird "inventor" dreams, he meets Rina. A distant relative who shows up out of nowhere. Within minutes, they're playing jokes around and even playing prince and princess like it's some budget fairytale.
And just like that... she moves away to the city. Ouch. Talk about tragic main character energy.
Fast forward: Solar's moping when a random mysterious box shows up. Inside? A shiny mirror that spits out... another him. Yep, Future Solar. Except this version looks like he's been through 10 seasons of drama, 3 failed inventions, and probably hasn't slept since 2045.
Apparently, the world ends because of his "brilliant" ideas. So Future Solar's solution? Swap bodies with Middle-School Solar. Because obviously the best way to fix a ruined future is... child labor?
Now Solar has to survive school, deal with his ridiculous "future self" problems, and maybe figure out what Rina really means to him.

Heads up, I did not design this cover. I got it from YouTube on a Sonne meme video by Clay_ This is the first story I've ever written that I've actually intended for other people to read, so expect mistakes. I'm also looking for advice on how to improve this story like a beta reader, if you will. If you have a comment, criticism, or advice for me, please don't hesitate to post it as long as it's constructive. This story was inspired by the Solarballs YouTube channel. It will be different from the show's canon because it is an AU. There will be no ships because I think it's just weird to ship celestial bodies (no hate, just my opinion). All celestial bodies will also be genderless (but feel free to imagine them as whatever gender you want) because they're cosmic beings; why would they have gender? (Again, no hate) This story will focus on the Sun's backstory (with bits concentrating on other characters, namely other stars that helped shape Sun's character) because there is a disappointing lack of Sun-centric fan fiction. There will be both happy and angsty chapters (and a lot of headcannons), so prepare for a wild ride!
