Luca decides that it's time to follow his dream, travel the world on a Vespa, with his best friend Alberto. But, some feelings and emotions that he is unfamiliar with start to show when he is alone with Alberto.

They were nice, but lacking in adventure and a certain excitement. After being in Genova for what felt like so long, Giulia and Luca were finally coming back to Portorosso for the summer. After what felt like ages, the underdogs will finally be reunited, and most importantly, Luca will finally be able to see his best friend Alberto again. Even with this in mind, Luca just feels weird. Is it his nerves? Is he just anxious? Whatever it is, Luca is feeling something he's never felt before. He just can't put his finger on it. Only time will tell.... Luca, a young sea monster, is overjoyed to be reunited with his best friend, Alberto. The two young monsters are looking forward to another summer full of pasta, gelato, scooter rides, and swimming. But then they are woken up by their screaming neighbor. Apparently, a monster (not the sea variety) is scaring kids at night. After Alberto and Luca volunteer to find out why, one thing leads to another and they end up in another world. This world is full of monsters who have made an entire business out of scaring human children. Luca and Alberto need to both blend in and find a way home. Luckily, they find help in the company's best Scare Team: James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski. But will the boys be able to keep their secret?
