"What are you?" he asked me with suspicion.
I was taken a bit off guard by his words and stuttered out, "I...I don't know."
Alison doesn't know what she did to deserve the torture that she goes through. In fact, she doesn't even understand the torture. All she knows is that whenever she gets close to someone she wakes up somewhere totally new. Each place is different, and some of them are really different. However, none of them have been as different as this new dimension... or as dangerous.
Now she's seemingly stuck in ancient Egypt. All of which would be fine if an uprising against the Pharaoh hadn't caused chaos. Now she's trying to discover what she is and stay alive with the help of the Pharaoh.
