Mark Carlson always had it easy. When it came to his career, relationships, personal goals, if he set his mind to it he would achieve it. During his high school years he fell in love with Ashley, the girl of his dreams. Unfortunate circumstances pulled them apart but 10 years later they may have a chance to make amends for their mistakes and start fresh. Both Mark and Ashley have found companionship elsewhere but when their paths cross he quickly realizes his feelings never diminished for his first love. For the first time in his life, he will have to decide whether to do the right thing, or follow his gut and deal with the consequences.

Ashley James took her destiny in her own hands and flew across the world to study theater after high school. Saying 'goodbye' to her family that disowned her and a boyfriend who took her for granted, she realized standing on her own two feet and gaining the independence she so greatly deserved would make up for her depressing lot in life. She thought success would satisfy her sense of belonging, but running into her old flame during a couples retreat with high school friends resurfaced feelings dormant deep within her heart.
