Besides the fact that she shouldn't even exist, the strange almost supernatural happenings that have been plaguing her family since she was born, and the fact that she has always felt that her life has been this hazy choppy slow filmed movie mystery. Her normal. That is until she meets Lucian Blood; the First Vampire and to be considered the Immortal King. After that, a whole new world is thrown at her feet, and as secrets are reveled that make her hazy choppy slow filmed movie mystery all the more clearer. But she quickly finds herself having mixed feelings for this supposed monster. As an ancient evil that was supposedly banished to the deepest pits in hell is rising once again to reap its bloodshed upon the world. 
What will happen when the mystery meets its detective? Can Octavia explore and save this new world with all of these new and confusing emotions, or will she be consumed by the very darkness that she is prophesized to stop?
