iris and Ezra were each other's first everything first kiss, first time, first date, etc.

Ezras dream was always to become the top NFL player, become famous, he loved the spotlight while iris was a shy introverted girl that would much rather stay inside and read all day.

At the end of senior year he realized he would have to choose between iris and living his dream.

Ezra decides to choose football.

Iris was left heartbroken she understood it was his dream but lies went around the school saying he cheated on her with the schools cheer captain.
