It's too strict that it feels like a leash on her neck, she loves her mom but it was too suffocating already that she knew it's not doing her good anymore. It feels like she lost her childhood years and now losing her teenage years because she's not allowed to do a lot of things.
When she turned eighteen she finally decided to break the leash, to escape the dungeon she once called home. She wanted to be free. She wanted to be a normal person with adventures and mishaps.
