"Oh, zeidi. I'll get the draft stopper." The words come out with a humorous sigh. But as my gaze travels to where his unmoving hand persists, I widen my eyes in disbelief.

He woke up in a hospital, doesn't know why he's there, doesn't know who he is, doesn't even know how he got there, and he's got a real bad headache. He's got a head wound the size of a baseball, he can't see with his right eye, and no matter how hard he tries, he can't get a straight answer for anything, except that mineshaft workers found him crystalized and immediately flew him to the 'hospital.' My grandfather passed away a while ago due to Alzheimer's. It's a horrific disease that eats away at your mind and takes away your memories. In my grandfather's final moments, he had forgotten how to swallow food and water. He didn't know his own daughters'. His own family he spent most of his life with.
