It's been a while since Spyro successfully defeated the diminutive Riptoc, Ripto, in Avalar and returned to the Dragon Realms from his much needed vacation in the number 1 Dragon vacation spot, Dragon Shores. 

Spyro, the Dragons, Hunter and Sparx are extremely exhausted after they had celebrated the Year of the Dragon, where 151 new Dragon Eggs have been laid, however, the peace and tranquility of the Dragon Kingdom has once again been disturbed, by the return of the Sorceress, a powerful and dangerous new villain. The Sorceress sent her apprentice, Bianca, to steal the Dragon Eggs and take them to the Sorceress' lair in the Forgotten Worlds, which were once inhabited by Dragons, until the Sorceress banished the Dragons, so Tomas sends Spyro to return the baby Dragons, before the Sorceress carries out her plans.

Spyro will meet a variety of new friends and allies in the Forgotten Worlds, he will also face a number of powerful new enemies as well as some old ones.
