[READ MORE BELOW] -- After being teleported to a world filled with magic and fantasy, YN (Your Name) meets a girl he had no clue could exist. During his time in the Roswaal Mansion, YN will find out the true meaning of why it's called a "crush." -- This is the REDUX of my story "(Rem x Reader) Re:Reader - Starting YOUR New Life in Another World." This separate entry exists for the purpose of the story's re-write (to fix typos, correct spelling, make names more consistent, etc), but also to preserve the comments from the older entry, and for the purpose of chapter consolidation (Wattpad has a limit of 200, and the main entry is already at 146). All chapters in the older entry will be in this entry in the form of "Volumes" that contain multiple chapters in one larger "chapter" (these chapters will still exist in the volumes of this entry). These newer, longer chapters improve immersion, descriptions, and character dialog/motives, they DO NOT add any new events or lore. When I begin releasing newer chapters for the fic, they will still be posted on the old entry, and they will only be added once I reach those chapters in my effort to rewrite the older chapters. You will NOT be required to read these chapters to understand content past this. Over time, I plan on releasing more "volumes" for this entry as I slowly pluck away at the re-write. Many years have passed since the war between the humans and monsters. The humans won, and shut the monsters in a place called the underground. Keeping them there with a magical barrier, it took seven usable souls to shatter the barrier, but being monsters, their souls didn't work. Instead, they had to use human souls to break the barrier, and even then, humans were not likely to fall in. Because the human waste system ends up in the underground, the monsters are informed of what's going on up on the surface, and have developed human-like lifestyles, which included scholarship, friendships and the like, but it seemed, that the monsters were eager to get back on the surface again. Six humans were unlucky enough to fall into the underground, and the leader of the monsters, Asgore Dreemurr killed these humans to use their souls for removing the barrier. Asgore thought that those humans were the only ones that would fall in, but he was wrong. Two more humans fell in, but their souls were lost before Asgore could even use them, and those soulless ghosts were doomed to haunt the underground.
