26-year-old Romana Elizabeth Harris has been married to ATF Special Agent Joshua Kohn for years, forced to give up her job in the police department of Charming, California, and stay at home under the control of her abusive husband.

Damon Wolf, singer in the German industrial rock band Sons of the Dark, has come to the northern California town of Charming as a way to unwind, relax and get away from the pressure of being in a region where he's widely recognized while working with his bandmates Adrian and Reiner on their next album.

It doesn't take him long to befriend Romana and take her under his wing (literally), especially when he finds out about the abuse and how her husband has treated her for six years.

They're just friends, despite Josh's suspicions . . . until one night Romana shows up on Damon's doorstep shivering with cold and a hastily packed bag. And there's no going back to the way things were between them.
