Middle Boulder Creek, located in Nederland, CO, is known for its family-friendly activities and piercing cold water, which is helpful and refreshing during hot, July days. The creek is also known for the disappearance and presumed death of twenty-two year old mother, Casey Bennett, who was rafting in the creek, along side her four year old daughter, April. June 25th, 2008, April was found floating in a raft, covered in mud, alone. Casey was gone. After the incident, April's father took her away from Nederland, and swore to protect her from the creek that had killed her mother.
Now, twelve and three-quarter years later, April has returned to Nederland for the summer. Determined to learn more about her mother's family and her past, April is anxious to explore Nederland, and all the secrets that come with it. Along the way, the unknown comes to play and shows April what truly happens by the creek.
