Now, he is set the task of escorting Gavin Free - a man a couple years younger than him - across what is left of the United States, fighting for their lives. Their minds set on one goal. Survival.  As they travel the post-apocalyptic United States, the two men grow closer, bonding with each other, their relationship growing.   And nothing can get in their way. No infected. No humans. Everyone shivered on their knees. Simon walked back and forth as he stared at us, nodding his head and smiling as if approving his shiny new friends. "Alright! Let's meet the man himself!" When Kate wakes up from a head injury, unable to remember the previous hours, she travels on foot from Virginia to Georgia, meeting new people. Later down the line, she comes across a familiar face. Will she fight for the ones she grew to call family, or will she find herself fighting against them to kill the man she slowly found herself falling for... **This will begin in the early story of Negan, 'Here's Negan', which my character meets Negan just before he turns to the badass man he is. So I read this fic ages ago but it wasn't complete and it hadn't been updated since 2014 and I really want to finish it so I decided to finish it myself, however, all credit for the idea and the first chapter goes to jaeparker on archiveofourown and their fic was called 'your graduation'. This is their summary: Michael and Gavin grew up together. Inseparable. best friends for life. Until One day Gavin just stops talking to Michael entirely. Right when Michael needs his best friend most, he's gone in an instant. Gavin leaves Michael to deal with school, growing up, and the loss of both of his parents alone. I in no way claim any credit to the idea of this story, however all writing from chapter 2 onwards is entirely my own and I also edited the first chapter but the ideas are all based on the original story.
