    at least, to them.
    you see, vega three's cats were made. made from metals and what might as well be magic. 
    
    animals like them died out hundreds of years ago. now, humans are the truly independent species. they make their own food. their own power. 
    they had no use for animals, so why bother studying them?
    
    that's what they said.
