Secrets

It had been a couple of months since Andy Herrera walked into the station. She was left out at first, but soon made friends with a couple members of the A shift.

From the start Robert caught Andy's eye, but she knew couldn't act on her desire seeing as he was her battalion chief, and she was only captain.

The board wouldn't approve because of their different ranks, not unless they were married.

Unlike Andy, Robert decided to act on his desires and continuously flirted with Andy to the point where he asked her on a date, one she accepted thank god.

After the date, they spent more time getting to know each other and eventually agreed to date secretly since they knew the consequences of getting caught.

To put it shortly, some members of the team spotted Andy and Robert on a date and questioned them immediately, leading up to the eventual spilling that they were in fact together and had been for a couple of weeks.

Robert had a daughter, it wasn't a secret, but Andy wasn't aware. The rest of the team knew his daughter from when she was a baby, even met his now dead wife a couple of times.

He planned on telling Andy soon, but whenever he was close it never felt like the right time, and he backed out. He had also asked the team to keep it a secret, seeing as he wanted to be the one to tell her.

Let just say things didn't exactly go the way Robert had planned.
