After a summer of grappling with her identity and struggling to overcome her past hardships, seventeen-year-old Sabrina Collis's life is changed forever when Melanie Stocker, her favourite victim to bully, is murdered following a back-to-school party. Sabrina finds herself going from the second most popular girl in all of Stonefair Prep to the second most-wanted suspect for the murder of her classmate.

As the police investigation continues, Sabrina notices that nobody is coming across as innocent. Not her childhood best friend and Stonefair sweetheart Hollis Whitley, who's coming apart at the seams, nor Eden Lloyd, the third member of the tyrannous trio who seems to be revelling in the attention. Even the new girl, Poppy McLain, seems to be wound up in this nefarious mystery.

In a desperate attempt to untangle herself from the killer, Sabrina has to not only fight the demons around her but also the ones lurking in her past if she wants to figure out who the true killer of Melanie Stocker is. When the investigation seems to be only leading to one suspect, Sabrina must decide what's most important to her: loyalty or justice.
