Man is essentially an epistemological animal. His unrestrained thirst for knowledge is itself a thesis about knowledge. Whatever differences of opinion there may be about the status and validity of particular experiences, there can be no two opinions that there are certain experiences which are veridical; for, if logical certainty is denied, logic itself would be without foundation.
