12 year old Kasumi Miyamoto, like many in this ninja world, lost everything when she was 5 years old. 

At the age of 12, Kasumi was found outside the Hidden Leaf Village by none other than Kakashi Hatake, and is assigned to live with him while she stays in the Hidden Leaf Village.
